Time Turners don’t make sense

Okay, so let’s say you get this guy who’s willing to sacrifice themselves and die to get rid of Voldemort. Get some dude to use a time turner, go back in time, go the the orphanage, and kill Tom. It would make things a lot easier, and I don’t see anything wrong with it. I mean, the only reason time turners are prohibited is because you might get people killed, and the cursed child shows that, but seriously, is there anything wrong with killing Tom? Discuss

Ikr, so many things don't add up

Nah, Rowling is just confused.

Bingopuzzles

you mean "Tom Riddle"

No, you can't just go back in time and kill a kid for what he's gonna become.. he wasn't that evil when he was a kid and it was an issue of bad parenting when it started out..

No, I mean “JK Rowling”.

It’s worth it if you save all the lives Voldemort ends up killing. And it wasn’t an issue of bad parenting. Non of the other kids in the orphanage turned out to be murderers.

You are all wrong because...

1. 1 turn equals 1 hour back

2. How many turns is that? Thats like at least 10K turns

Yep, but if someone is that patient to make those many turns..

But it could go incredibly wrong and is not really practical.

I'm not talking abt the orphanage. One of the main reasons why Voldemort became a "bad wizard" was that he'd never really got any love. He was born because his mother had drugged his father, who cared nothing about them with a powerful love potion. Voldemort was left at the orphanage right after he was born, where he was bullied and treated badly, which led him to treating them poorly too. And bcoz he was a wizard, the stuff he did was perceived more "extreme".

cutelittle

But the choices he made later? Not so justifiable.

He wasn’t bullied at the orphanage. He was the bully. Read the book again.
Killing is killing. A muggle can kill and torture other people. It’s not like only a Wizard is capable of doing that. There was nothing “extreme” with what he was doing. Only “wrong”.

It would definitely take more than that.

Okay, maybe not exactly bullying, but he was treated differently. The books don't really say that he was not bullied. And yes, what he did was wrong but there may have been reasons

The book said he was the bully. In the orphanage he would bully the other children.

I think Rowling once said Voldy had no love because he was born from the effects of a love potion

cutelittle

Yep.
