Stalemates are considered checkmate in 4 player chess and are therefore non-existent. However, we recently found out that a player that stalemates themself will receive +15 points (e.g. for checkmating themselves). I actually like that as it makes it rewarding to be stalemated (just like in standard Chess). Let me know what you guys think? See the image below:

4 Player Chess Stalemate

I think that is a great idea and works to the right person's advantage.

A typical way in chess to avoid stalemate is to check every move. I think it is unintuitive that it is considered stalemate before it is that players turn to move. I do not mind the player getting points for stalemate though.

I think we should put a Play button at the top of the screen.

that's just easy

And what about a draw when two players left?

Draws do happen if there is not enough material or if points are equal between players.

If it is a knight vs knight endgame both players probably would want to trade knights to get maximum points. Will it be decided a draw before they manage to trade, after one player has captured a knight, but before a chance to recapture or after the trade is complete?

I would prefer a claim draw feature that is only active on your turn in insufficient material positions with more material than king vs king. Just to allow trades if the players want to.

What do you mean by "stalemate yourself"? Do you just mean "get stalemated"?

This is a nice rule, only if awarding players victorious for insisting playing totally lost positions is a good thing. Which is not.
