Good idea.
Tournaments for our kind
It can takes months to get that many players together which is why I create tournaments with 6-12 players. That way there are games to be playing whilst waiting.
You sure it's not this match you are thinking off?:

Oh, and I've got a new open tournament going on, feel free to join it..

yeah it is this one we are in with the British something or other group. So tell me why do I have two games with the same perso for the match?
Same way every match goes, you get paired with one opponent from the other team, you play once as white and once as black against that opponent.
hehe, cool... however, that is how a match works, a game where our community plays against another community. A tournament will see you put in a group with some (or all) of the other participants, and you'll play 2 rounds against each of them (black and white), then be ranked (or qualify for next round) based on the results. Feel free to join the helping hand tourney to experience this if you like:

See I'm relatively new to the site here. Mostly been playing online chess, not live or tourney. Haven't played chess in this manner in a long time since about the early 90's.
These three tournys are a bit higher than this group plays, but if you would like a challenge, love to see you on the boards.

How does everyone feel about thematic opening tournaments? The potential upside would be that it would teach players the basics of the openings. They might also go slightly faster because each match starts a few moves in. Thoughts, anyone?

Thought it would be nice with a post where we advertise tourneys in our ranges. I'll start with my own as I've been a bit overambitious in it's making. Please help me fill it :)
