Beat a 1600 and this was the final sequence of moves , if you find another winning combo feel free to comment it!

I think the fact you were able to get this position is more relevant than the specific moves you played. Everything wins. Well played

I've studied a lot of 1. e4 e5 lines but I struggle in alternative setups. Overall he's much much stronger than me but in the italian main line I can equalize a bit because of my preparation haha. Thank you tho! Hopefully we can play one of these days again

Another game with my friend, but I missed this sequence and lost the game. Checkmate in 7 (advice: Don't think about checkmate immediately, just find the most forcing move in the position each turn.)

disclaimer 2: Move 3 is insanely hard to find and is just a stockfish way of delaying checkmate by 1 turn, so don't get frustrated.

what happened in the actual game is kind of embarrassing but a good way to remember to never give up, even if you blunder a piece! https://www.chess.com/analysis/game/live/137239866009

Endgame basics for my beginner friends: Create a passed pawn!

Lovely puzzle! I swear I've seen this before in a YouTube video or a book or something.

Yes! It's common to see tutorials on how to create passed pawns, I believe it's also a common topic for puzzles. Glad it helped

A defensive puzzle. I think the final move isn't as easy to see for a puzzle, although in a real game, it might get played instantly.

A classic, one would think not a lot of players fall for it, but this is actually taken from my last game against a 1,120 rated player.

The only time I got something remotely similar in a real game, I won, but it was the "Illegal's" Mate. It wasn't sound, and I was lost, but I noticed that if they grabbed my queen, I'd win the game via checkmate, so I went for it, and it worked. The actual pattern isn't just a trap, as you're still getting the pawn even if they do see it.

Another one I liked:

I understand! In some variations I believe you have to kick the bishop around first to remove it from that diagonal, but yes, even in the best case you still get an advantage.

That checkmate, and the other mates you had, are very tough to find in a rapid game. Those positions, where you feel like you should be checkmating, but don't know how, can be quite frustrating.

yes, exactly. I was low on time and afraid of the knight sacrifice to open up my king, so I felt I had to find the best checks, turns out I had to relocate the knight somehow and the knight sacrifice didn't bring anything dangerous to the position, but that required some calculation and I just couldn't do it on time.

Gothenburgess

Find the best move for black. From a game someone played (dm for reference).

KiriyamaKazuo

Basic, but fun:

For beginners who are unfamiliar with it, this is an example of Anastasia's Mate:

Gothenburgess

Find the best move for black (intermediate/advanced) position from the following puzzle, but not exactly the same https://www.chess.com/puzzles/problem/1223561/practice

I liked this one too (beginner level):

cegalleta

I did almost all well and thought 'there's no way white can escape this', but chose the wrong move after the first two, tried to go for a perpetual check but in the end fd up. Find the move!

cegalleta

Simple one, but it does happen quite a lot against people playing the caro-kann.

Sebu13

I missed this game changing tactic and went on to lose the game. Can you find it?
