Two new tournaments now in registration

Greetings, all. I am accepting registrants for two new tournaments here on Chess.com.

The first is called Tournament of Sevens. This is similar in theme to my Tournament of Eights, which began on January 5 of last year. In the Tournament of Sevens, your rating must be at least 777 to register, and the entire roster will have 77 players. Each group will have seven registrants. Three players from each group will advance. The time control is seven days per move, and vacation is permitted.

The other event is Slav Defense, where you have the chance to practice and compete using that opening system (1. d4 d5, 2. c4 c6). The rating range is open, and it needs 100 players to begin.

Thanks to all who have joined! Registration is moving right along. The Tournament of Sevens already has 22 registrants, needing just 55 more to start.

The Slav Defense event has 15 out of 100 signed up, so we need 85 more players there, and we can begin.

i joined tournament of sevens. i like having seven days to do my move, so i am not joining slav defence.

I'm back here, announcing once again a new tournament in registration. At the beginning of this thread, I announced two tournaments. The Slav Defense filled with players and is running now, but the Tournament of Sevens never did get the necessary number of players, so the registration phase timed out and the tournament expired.

This is to announce the revival of the Tournament of Sevens. Sevens are wild in this tournament! It should be a lot of fun, so click the link and join.
