Staff are aware of the issue and working on it. It only impacts some people with certain versions of the WebView app on their device, as I understand it.
Unable to read text in messages

It depends on your choices of light/dark interface, the background and text color the author has chosen, and also sometimes on the background picture-- and, I think, on your personal browser settings (for pages where the app actually uses the browser (sometimes without telling you)).
I don't know how it works, it seems quite random, but sometimes the dark theme makes a transparent message background black and leaves a white message background transparent, and sometimes it is the converse, a transparent message background becomes white and a black message background remains transparent (for example here : https://www.chess.com/club/championnat-de-france-par-equipe-cfe : since the background image is very light, when you are in dark mode, the background which becomes transparent [but solid white in light mode] makes it very difficult to read s.th. in dark mode).
So I think the best would be to make the message background always (or at least by default) solid [= non transparent] in both, light & dark mode. [of course, of the corresponding "color" (w/b), and the text of the opposite "color".]

The problem is with the app and has been recreated by staff with no special text coloring

Thanks, it works properly now.
Whenever i try to read a message in the chess.com android app, the text comes up in the same color as the background (black bg).
