I wrote this in my Club Notes.  No answer.  I'll ask here.  Thank you for any insight.   Just Curious.             "I notice that we have 13 Unrated players in this Club. What do they do? I am curious why someone would remain Unrated? Do they Never play games?"

Probably did not have any activity on the site yet. Usually if a new member does lessons, tactics etc, they start you with a 800 rating.

It means they don't play one type of chess - like daily. They might just play live/blitz. Look at their profile to see.

Well there are some that have been here at Chess.com for many years without playing. Some are just here for the chat, some here to blog. I'm quite a chatterbox myself. I threw in a few games in here and there but these days would just rather hang out than play.

More power to you, but I never understood that myself. There are better chat sites on the internet than a chess group. Of course the ratio of men (boys mostly) to women/girls is probably 10-1 (if not higher) so I guess that star status is what you're after. Enjoy.

Thank You @Sartresghost.  I see the default for my club is 3-day move chess.  None of these members have played a single game of it,  but they are Blitz active.  Thank you.   And thank you @cheeky_chicky for the other possibility and larger picture of your profile pic.  Me gusta.

Just a word of caution, as an admin, you might find blitz only players will join your club but will never join team matches so whether you recruit them anyway is of course up to you. Glad we could help.

You may find some of these blitz-only players will participate in live matches if you ever play those.

Also, if you play vote chess, some people play vote chess but never play their own games.

I have been a member here for years. I chat and play vote chess with my friends and play Tactics Puzzles. I probably play about eight to ten games a year - maybe less.

Well "Chess.Com" has pretty much anything for every type of player.

In a recent interview, the company's CCO said that the ration of men to women is 3 to 1.

Don't actually see many Women players in tournaments. Perhaps they are searching for Mr. Wonderful?

Avatar of Commando-Poppins

@Stevis5 I kind of find that hard to believe.🤔

More likely staying away from male attention.

There are a lot of women who are anonymous simply because they're tired of harassment.  You've undoubtedly played some without realising it.

Are we "MEN" that bad? Thought chess was a friendly act of war....LOL

Avatar of MGleason

Most aren't; some are.

Is this topic about the unrated designation or is it about girls?
