Vacation during Ladder Games

The Groovy Gang and Groovers+ Ladder games does not deal with vacation. The purpose of this topic is to discuss possible rules for participants going on vacation during Ladder games.

Please share your thoughts on rules on this matter.

Below is an extract from another club's ladder dealing with vacation.

VACATION DURING GAME:

1. You should not take vacation during the game. 
2. In case of unforseen situation you can take up to 3 days vacation per game.
3. If you take more than 3 days of vacation, your game may be forfeited,
4. If you take vacation more than 6 times, your game may be forfeited. That rule is mainly for premium members, who have set 'automatic vacation'.
5. The decision about forfeiting a game is at discretion of the admin.

how do join/compete in the ladder?, Ladder should be a no vacation thing, miss a deadline, lose the game

I for one feel no vacation at all , a tournament is a little different as it lasts longer and with more people , but one on one = no vacation  , my 2 cents worth

I kinda think no vacation either. 

I'm in favor of no vacation for ladder games. Has the group made any decisions ?

Someone is up a queen and a pawn while my opponent is on vacation.

I'm going to deliberate with our Super Admin as well as with @IronHawkSD about this. Will announce the decisions as soon as we have agreement.

If both players agree the match waits for his return. If there is a disagreement then the vacationing player forfeits the game; however there should be no movement by either on the ladder. The vacationing player should have a V placed by his name, and the winner by forfeit gets a rating boost and is free to conquer their next victim.

After deliberation with our Super Admins, it was decided to implement Vacation Rules for the Groovy Gang Ladder. In short no more than 3 days vacation, but the person wanting to claim the win has to report the move they're at for the vacation clock to start running. They'll be able to claim a win 3 days after that.
