could you please add a square maker in variant editor? I tried to create some squares so that i can make my own variant but it turned out that the chess.com variant editor doesn't have "square adder".
Would you mind adding this feature pls? Thanks a lot

I think the original author intends on asking whether chess.com's built-in board editor can support adding more squares and increasing the board size.

max board size is 14x14, so you can't "add" squares but you can remove them

Is there a physical limitation in the implementation code that forbids going over 14x14s?

Yes, in addition, anything over that amount would make the board way too big and impractical (although some 16x16 variants exist, a board should really not be that complex, and many variants created using those sizes have pure spam rather than an acceptable position)

Is there a shortcut for placing empty squares on the board where there are transparent bricks?
(except directly editing the fen4)

its staying there for no reason, especially there already exists the brick annotation X
