You should've used a wazir!
I've thought about that, but I decided that the ability for the king to be brought out in the endgame is too good for that to be removed by changing the piece to a wazir.

Wait, was that sarcasm?

No, that was a genuine comment. After seeing 3 players do that 1.Kd3, I thought, "Man, BlueYoshi could've made it wazirs. I mean, the kings are really used to only defend the hill [I don't bring the king out during endgames], so why not?"

When you get into endgames with high level players (like, really good ones; a lot better than me) they will use a different piece to guard the hill, and use the extra king to either escort a pawn, or other things that high level players do that I don't understand. I personally have only done it once or twice, but I've played against multiple people who have regularly.
You'd be surprised by the number of people who play 1. Kd3, thinking they just won.
Probably about 1/5 of the testing games I tried to get started with that move, and I knew, without even continuing, that the next two minutes would be worthless.
