This creates a problem, because then racing kings will be the same as KOTH only with a different hill position.
What's a problem here? There can just be a separate rule that does not allow checks.
Great, so that custom variants now can have a no checks option.

Why not simply let players choose the squares for KotH, like you can do with walls?
So you mean different players have different squares for KOTH?
Suggestion: Promotion for different pawns: A lot like in wolf chess, where if you bring a normal pawn (not a sergeant) to the 10th rank you promote to Amazon rider.

Is that different from this?

it's different
Suggestion: Revamp the reporting system. I'd like to see which of my reports are still open, which have been rejected, and any responses the admin wants to give.
From the other side looking out, I know there are quite a few instances where adding a short comment with rejecting a report will save time in the future. For instance, referring back to the "Is it Teaming" article, when uneducated players make reports of teaming on players who have only played one game together. This will save time for admins and players alike, and will give players another incentive to use the reporting feature and clean up the game overall.
I don't know if this is being worked on or not, but can you make it so that we can search archives of games played pre-merge? This would make it much easier to find games that I want to look over again, either for opening theory or a custom position that I want to revise, etc.
You can already do that??
If you're having problems because the archive is timing out, then narrow down your search to less than 1 week and do some filters too.

yeah the archive is kinda trash on variants
Maybe have an option to be able to pin certain variants you personally want to play on one page, customizable for each person? Would make navigation a lot easier.

Not a bad idea.
Small thing but my OCD would really prefer a more ordered version of the 4pc leaderboards, for example, if FFA could be one column (rapid, blitz, bullet going down), teams another column, then say, hyper as the last column. Would look a lot neater in my opinion.
Suggestion: Different rules for different players: You can have FoW for one person and one doesn't (or have another disadvantageous rule)

This was the case in the old 4pc server.

Yeah
suggestion: the ability to submit a position to the CGA team without a forum BUT with all posting
