it is mate (I am pretty sure cause it is) cause it is a double check with the knight and rook so the black king can't go anywhere

I don't play a lot of VC but I'm assuming the only time that works is if you vote for a mating move, correct?

If you vote for the right move, it works but, it doesn't explain how it already said it was a mate

Yes. The only situation where this would be bad is where somehow the mating move gets outvoted and that person just saw the WHOLE game review and upcoming lines.
