We are ready to host uscf online events! I want to do either one or two regular weekly tournaments, and sprinkle in some special events with prizes. What day of the week, time of the day, and time controls do you prefer?

Do you need a membership to participate?

Yep, uscf online events require a uscf membership.

I would suggest maybe a 10 minute rapid or a 3 minute blitz with 2 second increment.

It would be better for me to do them on weekends, but afternoons on weekdays would also work.

Any time except Sunday mornings or during MSU football or basketball games. Go Green! :-)

Seems like most of my games I’ve played on here so far have ended up being Sunday afternoon or evenings.

I just became a uscf member. I'm new to all this, I've always just played. If you host an event will I be able to gain/lose rating points now the we are an affiliate? If this is super ignorant, I'm sorry. I'm clueless but I'd love to get in on whatever I can!

@Mathyou86 because you are a USCF member, you will be able to join the USCF online rated tournaments that we are soon to host. Those games will affect both your chess dot com rating and your USCF online rating.
