I'd also say that in the second line (a knight leaps thrice, ignoring the stares), the knight could be going to squares that are seen by opposing pieces, but is defended/they are pinned or smth.

You gave me a sight in the second one that i was thinking deep which means i must have gotten it right and 1st one is obviously right.
