What Are Your Favorite Openings?
I like to go e4 as white and see what happens usually, but sometimes, what I like to do as well, is do some random thing and see what happens next lol
White - I like the Jobava London System (d4 + Nc3 + Bf4) for blitz, and 1. Nf3 with an early g3 in regular chess.
Black - Safe sidelines of the KID and the Accelerated Dragon. Against the English Opening I play g6 on move one.
Grob and Bird's opening double duck variation for white, (Just kidding!)
Actual white favorite: Ruy Lopez, Italian Game, Scotch game (Yeah, e4 plus Nf3)
For black: Sicilian with Nc6 d6 and e4. Against d4... maybe the Dutch? I am agressive, so d4:

ppl all giving their opening repertoire, are you planning on organizing a tourney then prepping VS everyone tiny?
No, I wasn't planning on organizing a tournament or prepping or anything like that, I just wanted to see why people like different openings and maybe find a few that I might like. ![]()
Since we are The Opening Club, I figured it would be a good idea to talk about our favorite openings. Please share your favorite openings here and why you like them, then we can discuss. I will start:
When I play White, I like to play the Ruy Lopez Opening and the Queen's Gambit because they can be both aggressive or positional depending on how they are played.
For Black I like the Queen's Gambit Declined against 1.d4 because it is solid and positional. I don't have a favorite response to 1.e4 so I have been trying out many different responses with varying degrees of success.
Again, please share your favorite openings and feel free to share your least favorite openings as well!
