What do you want to do as a club?

What else would you like to do as a club? What would help you and others improve?

Some ideas:

• Interclub daily chess tournament
• Interclub themative tournament (from a famous position or opening)
• Discussion in the forum
• Team matches against other clubs
• Live tournaments (blitz or bullet)

Let me know if you have other ideas and I'll set something up.

This club has been passive so far. How about announcing a date for a club chess tournament? Rapid or bullet or whatever.

Sorry for the delayed response. I missed this one. I definitely think it'd be fun to do a blitz tournament. I don't have much experience with live tournaments. Have you played in them before? What's the best format for things like this?

Well, I am sorry for the late response too, Peter. It’s been 20 days and only now have I read it. Anyway. Yes, if there is interest from other members, it would be fun to have a club only tournament. I don’t have any experience in this but from what I read, I think Swiss system is the most common. I don’t know how hard it is to keep track of everything or if there is a system here in chess.com. 

I think there are definitely systems. What time do you think would be best? I'm thinking Sunday morning US time? That way people in Europe can join in in the evening? Maybe Saturday would be better?

Sunday morning US time makes more sense I think. This way a lot of people would be off and morning in US makes it possible for European players to take part also. Good thinking. 

So I looked into it and it is possible to have a club only live tournament. Next Saturday night, I'm going to be on a redeye and landing in Puerto Rico at 5am. So, I'm not sure if I'll be able to participate in the tournament or not. But if you're around, I could set up a tournament and you could see how it goes?

I can create it up to 5 days in advance so people should see the start time and can plan. I may also be able to join, just can't be sure...

I was thinking of a 3|2 tournament to make it quick? Could also do 5 min?

Sorry for the late reply. I will be very busy in the coming weeks and it is hard for me to plan anything. If there is a tournament and I am available, I would join but it is hard to plan beforehand. Thank you very much, though.
