teams or ffa?
What is your first move when you have the red pieces? (You move first)

team i like h3 cause it opens my queen to green

I assume that you ask about FFA. I don't think that having the first move gives Red any advantage, because he reveals too early his intentions to his opponents. Blue and Green can adapt their opening strategy accordingly, to harm Red. Personally I feel safer when I am Green, because I have seen the first move of all other players before I play my own.
I consider "d4" to be a mistake for Red. It allows Blue to threaten a check at the very next move. If you are Red, and I am Blue, and you open with "d4", prepare to be defending for at least the next 5 moves.
Developing a knight or fianchettoing a bishop are all solid options for Red. My personal choice for solid development is "c4", aiming for a four pawn center, while been careful not to allow any checks or bishop exchanges. I have good results, but the game is boring. My currently favorite first move is "e4", aiming for an early attack against Green. It is a lot more fun to play this way, but my results are not great. Disaster strikes often, from all directions. Sometimes my best friend Yellow does not cooperate, and others he actively checkmates me. Green hates me, and Blue laughs at me, but it's such a fun way to play! And at the worst case scenario I can start quickly a new game and try something different.

LOL I think moving last is probably the best position because you can choose the best option to defend against everyone else. It may not always work but hey, that's life
As for me, it is a sin not to play one of the following moves:
Queen's pawn to x3 or x4
King's knight's pawn to x3
Every other move seems to throw away the advantage of the very first move. What do you think?
