What is a "thermal" coffeemaker?
What kind of thermal coffee maker should I get?

A double walled stainless steel carafe that keeps the coffee hot for a long time without a hot plate that ruins the flavor.

I found something similar in a Starbucks like place about 10 years ago. It's a Nissan brand thermos with a #4 cone filter holder with a spout going into the thermos. You heat water and then just pour it through and cap it up. Works great.

We have owned this kind of coffeemaker before...regular drip brew with a thermos carafe instead of glass on hot plate. I found that the fresh, hot coffee in the carafe was still tasting "burnt" after awhile so i had to leave the top off.

Can't picture it. Yet viable new technology always piques my interest.
What I know for sure is that perfectly good coffee kept in thermos for 2 months turns mouldy

They have made in this country before an Aladin thermos that I purchased years ago which I still have, however they were pricey, but they were stainless steel and not fragile. Check those out CP.

It's just a double thermal carafe that keeps coffee hot without a hot plate. Don't worry, I don't plan on letting it sit there for two months before I drink it. :)

Already have such a thermos.

I've drank such coffee before, and didn't have that experience.
As cheap as possible.
