My favourite time in the anime is when Cyberpunk and war were important things: The generations of writers, mangakas and directors who grew up with a Japan at war
Serial Experiments Lain is not only an anime that predicted the internet, but the social impact it would have in the world and how people would react to it
I would love a new generation as artistic as this: This anime was prophetic making the fiction come true in a few years later.
