This question implies that there are several pawns. However, we can only see one. I don't know if this is a bug or an English/French translation error..

Probably just a translation issue/confusion on piece identification:

After thinking about it, I think that a pawn could be promoted, either white or black. Perhaps if it is white, black must prevent it, but if it is black, perhaps the black king must assist it. But if that is the case, then the translation is indeed confusing.
