Chess.com needs money to run. LOL that's why they have memberships. 

Without money, this site wouldn't exist anymore. 

In india, definitely not worth it... in America definitely worth it

I feel like platinum would be worth it if it were the cost of the basic, that being said I'm seriously considering upgrading to platinum.

Probably not, but I personally value the service of chess.com so I am happy to pay for the premium plan. It's either paying to help the site run or if they don't need money for the site then it is rewarding them for providing a good service.
