Well, we discovered a big bug :) The computer was never going beyond depth=2 :) That would explain the bad play, inability to do endgames, etc ;)

Heh, well, that's humbling for the times I've not done well against it. Wink

If that was the case, though, how is/was it taking so long to move?  The iPhone CPU is not exactly Deep Blue, but surely it should be able to get through a complete 2-ply search faster than 60 seconds?
