Becuase then you can force your oppenents to promote all of their pieces so then you can keep capturing and would get so many points
Why a 1-point queen?
Well, you get a piece that moves like a queen, but its point is equal to a pawn. That might make people avoid trading them and always think carefully when trading 1-point queens. This leads to better playing in normal chess
the queen's value greatly affects the strategy of the game. specifically, 1pt Q adds to the game the strategy "Game for points." Usually, 'the last man standing' wins in the game, the player who wins on points at the stage 1vs1 wins less often and the player who died second wins even less, because for this need to score a big point gap from the opponents. In a game with a 9 point Q, the last option is almost impossible, because for sure the last two players will make queens, thereby increasing the number of points in the game (1 pt pawn became 9 pt queen). 1 pt Q allows to roughly estimate how many points the last two players can earn and a player can risk sacrificing his king for points to win the game
1 point queens promote from pawns, and pawns are 1 point each, so the queens are just pawns, but basically evoluted in a way.
Right now, I've been wondering, "Why does 4PC have a 1-point queen?" Some people call them fake queens because they have 1 point, but move like a queen. She also gets a regular Q instead of a D like they show it when they're introducing the fairy pieces, except when you promote to a 1-point queen. You can see the website here. Now I think that it makes sense. But why make a carbon copy of the queen, except that the lady's only 1 point? Tell me below.
