Why are annotation symbols converted to question marks

When I add an annotation symbol (eg. ∞ unclear) in the chess diagram editor, after I click Post, the annotation symbol appears as a question mark.

That's just the mistake annotation.

Yeah, the mistake annotation shouldn't come up when you add other annotation symbols.

Let me test:

The FEN says: "false".

And the board won't show up.

I believe if you don't want the glyph to show you have to add them as comments instead.

I inserted the unclear symbol as a comment, but that gets converted to a question mark as well.

Actually, it will depend on the board settings. Change Move Classification Style to Standard under the Analysis board settings.

This is just exactly how game review annotates my game. 😀

I don't have "Move Classification Style" listed on the "Board & Pieces" page of my settings. Is this a Beta Feature?

I am talking about the chess diagram editor used in vote chess games and the forums (not Analysis or Game Review).

Oh I see. Under Learn -> Analysis, call up a board click on the cogwheel icon, and then there is a drop down menu for Move Classification Style with a choice between Traditional and Default.

I don't see any cogwheel in the Vote chess/forum chess diagram editor.

It turned the unclear annotation into the mistake mark on certain moves, and then on others it shows up as the unclear annotation. I dunno, maybe a bug?
