I see no concern with Titled Tuesday as none of us in untitled play in it!

Its looks as though Europe, the Middle East, India , Russia , and China  have just got to accept that any change is not forthcoming and folk in the US  can continue to have the benefit of 15 of 16  untitled events.

No personal offence M Gleason , I appreciate your work here , .......but it does stink somewhat doesn't it?

It does stink. Do you have any ideas to make it not stink? If not, I don't find your comment helpful in the slightest manner.

Typical stuff, dont respond to the question and argument.

@2Ke21  , cant you read ?    Ive already done what you asked to reduce the stink by changing the untitled tuesday times .  Try harder.

Nice one Typewriter ........ avoid the subject completely .

High on sarcasm , low on wit or anything remotely positive in terms of comments .

Is that the best you can do ?   ðŸ˜Ž

Looking at tonights Untitled , around 66 players, 40 from the US plus at least 4 from Canada. Kind of says it all really.

Adding an extra tournament increases the workload.

Rotating the times of the weekly event will lead to confusion and people missing the event because they forgot the time.

This conversation seems familiar @sapphireglacier

And @MGleason has thoroughly debunked your suggestion.

How about one at 10:30  UTC and one at the usual 22:30 UTC?

No. Just no. As my previous comments say, Untitled Tuesday is fine the way it is.

I don't want to overlap with Titled Tuesday.  We have people who want to watch that.  I like that they can come straight from watching Titled Tuesday to playing Untitled Tuesday.

I don't want to increase the workload by adding tournaments.  That means an increase in the workload of creating them, posting reminders, recording results in the spreadsheet, scanning for fair play concerns, writing recaps, etc.

That means that the only real option is to move to before Titled Tuesday, perhaps for every other week.

There's a real downside with that.  In the UK and western Europe, a lot of people are either still working or are commuting home from work at that time.

Also, when our Saturday events have been at good times for Eurasia and poor times for North America, they've tended to have a fairly poor turnout.  People from Europe and Asia don't tend to turn out in large numbers even when the tournament is at a convenient time.  If we had a large number of people from Europe and Asia showing up for these Saturday events when they're at good times, that would demonstrate that we have a large number of people who would play on Tuesday if it was at a more convenient time.  But so far, that simply hasn't been the case.  I'm concerned that if we moved to the earlier slot before Titled Tuesday that it would be too early for North America, highly inconvenient for many people in western Europe, and we'd have a low turnout from the rest of Eurasia, and as a result we simply wouldn't have many people show up.

I don't really see a lot of good options here.

The current situation is hardly ideal, but changing it in a way that hurts turnout in general to cater to people who aren't showing up in large numbers when tournaments do suit their time zone doesn't seem like the best solution.

OK , MG  Honest view and appreciated .

Avatar of MGleason

If those Saturday events that are at good times for Eurasia start to really fill up, that will show that there are a lot of people who would play in an earlier event and that can't in the later event.  At that point we can reconsider.  But right now that's not happening.

did u notice that they are still not getting an equal amount of time as us? why dont u try it for a month? see how it goes, the only reason that they dont come is because you dont give them enough tournaments.

@sapphireglacier It's kind of getting annoying now. Please stop debating a lost cause. Your arguments seem originated from one who didn't read any of MG's posts in this thread.

Avatar of MGleason

@sapphireglacier, we've had the monthly rotating Saturday events for years.  The weekly events are new.  The Saturday events that are at good times for Eurasia and bad for North America have always been poorly attended.

We maybe can do this once this club hits maybe 3500 people which is a far way from now.

That'll probably take another year or so to occur and it is impractical to dwell so far ahead in the future.
