Why creationists will never accept the theory of evolution

But are we all clear now that the Universe did not come into existence as the result of an explosion? It was space itself that expanded very rapidly during the period of Universal Inflation & then continued to do so but more slowly ever since.

Nothing exploded!

Yeah. But me, as a YEC, I believe that God spoke the universe into existence, instead of being contracted and then expanded.

Personally, I try to avoid snatching fanciful explanations out of thin air. I'm satisfied for now that we can't explain what happened at the very beginning of the Universe & may well never be able to do so.

@JayHunterBrickwood, the bible says clearly that it was made in 6 literal days!

amrugg

Now, how were stars made?

Yes, it was. I never said it wasn't. I said that when God created the universe, there was probably a big bang.

What do you mean how were stars made? God made stars, and now they *probably* form in nebulas.

Again, I try to avoid snatching fanciful explanations out of thin air! Maybe other people should too?

It's possible to see new stars forming in those regions of the Universe where there're gaseous nebulae. Now if some deity were to suddenly create a new star in a region where there's no nebula, we'd have to re-think that theory but it hasn't happened yet.

You didn't answer my question(not you @JayHunterBrickwood, I'm trying to find out how Evolution says stars form.) stephen. How does Evolution say stars form? (There weren't any nebulae at the beginning of the universe, were there?)

The question doesn't make sense if you mean biological evolution? That has nothing to do with the formation of stars.

As far as the creation of stars is concerned, this explains it better than I can...

Being interested in science does not go against God’s will. I hope you know that, you YECs. You are not sinning when you think about things in a different point of view. God isn’t going to punish you for not strictly going by the word of the Bible. God loves you, and would love you just as much as if you opened your mind to science in the point of view of scientists.

I don't believe he's going to punish us either,PyriteDragon.

In fact, there's plenty of science in the bible.

Gen ch 1 i think is fair to say harbors a great deal of science as well as the last few chapters ( 38 - 41 ) in the book of Job.

Gravity isn't stronger than gas pressure. It would literally take as much gravity to use a can of compressed air to suck up the air in a room.

What on earth is that supposed to mean? Gravity & pressure aren't even measured in the same units!

"It would literally take as much gravity to use a can of compressed air to suck up the air in a room" - nonsensical

Would you like to re-phrase that so it makes some sense please?

Please disregard my post #56. I was in a weird mood.

Weird? I thought it was one of the more sensible posts I've seen in this thread  wink.png

Looking back at the post, it isn’t weird. But it seems like I wasn’t being my usual self. Oh well, it’s no biggy either way.

Well I liked post #56.

I am afraid I must disagree with the title and premise of this thread.

Many Christians, even Creationists, can and do accept Evolution. Seeing it as the handiwork of God Himself.

The only ones who cannot accept the evidence for Evolution, are the Young Earthers like Ham and Hovind.

And that is only because they are still paying for their waterparks.

WHY creationists will never accept evolution is because it is dumb. Use common sense: An explosion makes something good, beautiful, better? People use bombs to hit enemy towns and destroy them, do the people that have been bombed thank them? When you try to settle on an island, do you drop bombs on the island? If your Christmas lights get tangled, to you roll dice to decide which wire to untangle them? How much less for something bigger?

The reason you cannot accept Evolution, is because you understand it.

Who told you there were explosions involved in Evolution?

Whoever it was, they lied to you, big time.

wsswan

Big time!
