Are you a current USCF member which is required?. Registration is of course not available to non members of USCF or lapsed members.

It's hard to say. I've seen that happen due to forfeit losses, but that doesn't appear to be the case.
Once you are out of the event, for whatever reason, it won't let you rejoin, as far as I know.

It rarely happens. I believe in two years, it has happened to me twice, and I may play up to four times a week.

Is that certain? It looks like another event may have been started but there is no way that I can see if it was a kick or what that caused the removal.

The last one that staff checked was logged like a normal withdraw, i.e. user initiated. I haven't heard anything on your specific case @foofooes but there may not be anything concrete to report on it.
Unfortunately, there are always chances of technical issues and it is possible there is some very rare, weird bug that can impact members sometime.
