Why do people submit variants in Chess.com and VW?

I’ve been noticing that while many people submit variants on VW, people also do this on Chess.com forums. CGA checks those, and also Variants World ones. But this forum is to ask one simple question: why are there to ways to submit these anyway?

If someone makes an entire new forum just to showcase a variant, the CGA won't see the variant, and instead send them of to the workshop thread

if you're talking about the workshop thread, most of the CGAs and testers are variant enthusiasts and variant makers, and they would probably give feedback if they want to, though they would not accept or decline it unless it's on VW

I'm not sure what the question is here exactly, but if you're referring to the Workshop thread, then that's for testing out new ideas and getting feedback prior to submission. Variants World is the final submission platform on which you submit sample testing games to the CGAs in order to make a post.

The submissions you see here are either people who post and idea not in Workshop, orma submission from before VW existed (February 2024).
