Eight points well made! This is a starting point for a very interesting conversation.
Why do You Write a Blog?

I like sharing my interesting and different chess ideas with everyone. That's why I'm wanting top blogger, so I can a bigger audience.

I think that writing full, comprehensible sentences, without implying verbs, using adjectives for substantives, and similar, would help a lot.
I am no native English speaker but I do my best to write in English. I think that writing decently is also important to be read, and to become top blogger as well.
I would shift the focus to write better, be more convinced, have a passion for writing and try to find a small audience of aficionados. Then it would be easier to become top blogger as well... Or probably you would stop caring much, because you would already have your audience.
I wish you lots of luck and will to improve, @CDRED141!

Marziotta, My whys? A good question! So here are a few quick answers (in no particular order):
- To start a conversation. I live in a small village in the NE of Brazil. Talking about chess is not really an available option.
- To develop a writing habit.
- To improve my writing.
- To make my own thinking more apparent to myself. blogging is part of my self reflection.
In the long term, I am blogging as a book writing strategy. I so far have about 70 posts (of, admittedly, variable quality). There must surely be some interesting material there for my book?

Actually, there is another reason. All modesty aside, I have read quite a lot of books and I do believe I have something to add to the adult chess improver community! Others may beg to differ and who can blame them? Blogging does seem to be a great way to share ideas.

Great reasons @DreamLearnBe, I relate to 3 and 4 most of all, also to 1, but indeed in Berlin I can also start conversations also in the outer world and not also online.
I think that verbalising our reasons, and explaining why we blog, what we like, and so on would also help us knowing better why we blog, why we like it, and we can do it better, smoother, happier!

I often read a lot of theories and then just forget. So I have decided that I will make blogs on particular opening. Then because I am writing down the lines, that means it will help me to remember the theory. Also I am making sure that I have understood the logic behind the moves too. Another reason is that, it will remain as a note or reference for me for the future. (Stockfish is trash at giving suggestion. Never use it for opening suggetion unless you are really high level player)

I think blogging your opening lines is a brilliant idea. Writing down the ideas doesn't just help us remember the ideas. It also deepens our understanding. Explaining is a great way of learning!

@DreamLearnBe yes, teaching/explaining stuff helps consolidating what we know, in easier words, it's a needed part to learn and remember!
I will start with my whys.
