erm absolutely not 15 million games of petrified were played lol. i think those numbers store a conglomeration of all variants in totality.
so you are saying that's the number of plays ALL variants have gotten?
welp also with such a bug community of chess.com is weird only 15 million games with ALL variants...
so far 5 million variant games played, we started at nr 10'000'001.
the first 10m are reserved for 4pc games which will soon be moved to variants.

once 4pc moves here 4pc games will get number like any other variant game, 15m and counting. we plan to move 4pc and copy the 4pc archive before it reaches 10m.
Petrified is too easy to draw tbh, even though it's still fun. Maybe if you added atomic+petrified it would be much more fun

What I mean is if a piece is captured the walls in a 1 square radius are also blown up, but the piece that is captured is turned into stone. About the pieces in a 1 square radius...maybe they just disappear.
it's weird petrified is not on the popular variants list. Look at how many games have been played in a few weeks of it:
in the top you can see more than 15 million games played in few weeks!!
while other variants like XXL chess which are more interesting get the same plays! ??¿¿
