lmao
there are only 2 solutions to end this
1. persuade admins to undo merge
2. create a carbon copy of old 4pc with same rating and everything is same
just like how colon recreated geometry dash on gdbrowser.com
Why is SFA Standard Now?

I prefer Solo.
I don't think most people have that strong of an opinion, FFA was just more popular because it was the original and default game mode. Which would you rather play, Solo with maybe 1-2 decent opponents, or FFA with 3 guaranteed high rated opponents? For serious players, it was a no-brainer. I think it would have been the same way if Solo had been the original game mode.
Also, how does it drive away new players? Their games are still FFA, not Solo.
If FFA was more popular, why did they make Solo the default format at 2200+?
That's a good question. Both of the formats are very similar, I don't see why they couldn't just make Solo the default and FFA an option under the same rating.

They could install Old 4PC on a separate domain like 4PlayerChess.com, but I doubt they're willing to do anything that benefits the community.

Buddy, that's a genius idea; chess.com already purchased the domain lmaooo
(no for real go to the link)

LOL of course I knew that, hence my suggestion. It's just redirecting right now, but this would be a much better use for the domain.

Here's a game that just finished, that shows how flawed turning FFA into Solo is!
Blue was passive the whole game as green was getting crushed:

People are used to playing FFA, and don't know how to adjust to the Solo format, since not many people cared for or played Solo before this merge.

More like: People are used to playing for 2nd once they *(in most cases) think* that they can't win or because they're bad in general, and don't know how to adjust to the Solo format, since not many people cared for or played Solo before this merge, and even if they did, can't read the chat to see that 2nd place loses rating points.

Yeah, you nailed it. So what can be done to fix this?
Give us FFA back, those players ruin the game for 2 other players and end up losing equally.
I was one of those players who didn't care for Solo, I only played Teams and FFA.

This system does not stop Kingmaking, nor does it stop people from throwing games and playing for 2nd-4th place. Some players will drag you down and make you lose out of spite until you block them, here's an example of a guy who kept targeting a player and kept throwing games until he got blocked. Since he's lower rated, he wasn't losing as many points as the player he was throwing against.

Why should we have to block players to adjust to this Solo system that hardly anyone was playing before? I've still yet to play a single FFA Rapid game thanks to the new system.
Teams is getting boring too, having to play the same forcing lines in the opening, and playing the same boring game over and over again.

Why is SFA Standard Now?
It is clearly the big mistake of the matter and the statistics show it:
The people who participated in this are people with experience, and they are more valuable than the great mass of people who are silent and express nothing.

I have summarized all my thoughts for you.
It is a gigantic long post so take your time if you are interested.
Here is what I like best:
As time control I heavily prefer increment and I really enjoy the 1|7 time format.
I think the best Setup is Omatomix but I think I would also be fine with Bsrti-invert.
As rating system, of course I think the one I suggested, the Empty rating +4 0 -1 -3 is the best. But I can also live with Solo rating +3 -1 -1 -1, Radon rating +4 -1 -1 -2 and even high Standard +3 0 0 -3 is fine for me.
If you want to know how I came to this conclusion read the post.
Cheers
Michael
They are just too incompetent to do so, and they're straight-up being ignorant at the same time.
