However, there is an effect in BE called fatal poison which can kill. However, the only way it occurs without cheats is if you give a parrot a cookie.
well it would be too god in pvp if id kill you
It's like real life. Most poisons can't kill you unless you take a very large dose. They will just leave you very sick. I guess that is why.
Also, poison would then be very op and people would always have to carry a milk bucket around

its a mincraft physic that unless you are in normal or harder poison dos not kill you its literally because your in easy its like that to give you a chance to survive after being poisoned

My tip always carry:
1. Bucket of milk
2. Bucket of water/boat
3.1 pickaxe
4.1 Axe/sword

Poison can NOT kill you not in hardcore or any other mode

Poison only leaves you on a half a heart (Max) but no killes you
