By the way,  the side pawns are VERY important! This is my MOST played variant. Plz accept. There is strategy.

This position got a lot of games in hyper and is fun to play casually. The only issues I see here are that the Capture the King rule means that stalemate is much harder to achieve, and that a single enemy king can gobble up a lot of pawns and/or can completely isolate someone from the game due to the single file one has to march up. What this amounts to is that cooperation in this variant is a lot more detrimental to the player being teamed on than in other variants (say, War for Throne II- you can lose some kings if teamed on, but if you're experienced, you won't be completely out of the game due to it). However, as I said before, this is a fun variant to play.

There are numerous issues with this position, many of which have been pointed out by TCD above. The games are extremely sharp, and one wrong move results in getting killed since the CTK prevents stalemate from working. Even if you removed CTK, then a wrong move would result in losing all of your pawns except for one or two, which is tantamount to a loss in a position like this. CTK and KOTH is a combination that very rarely works because surprise KOTHs are too easy. In addition, there is the issue of teaming: since the moves are limited to a very specific area of the board, there will be a lot of pawn-on-pawn capturing and therefore a lot of teaming. This isn't an issue in a variant like WFT II because the loss of one or two kings doesn't dictate the course of the game, whereas here getting teamed means instant death. We want our variants to be beginner-friendly, so players new to variants can try different positions without feeling frustrated by high learning curves. 

note: We also tested it as alternative teams. Due to the limited mobility of the pawns and king, it is very easy for someone to stalemate his teammate and get a quick draw. It is very difficult to win at all due to the easy way out for the losing team. We also tested it as normal teams, but ry have a substantial advantage. So both FFA and Teams do not work.
