Today, we are thrilled to reveal that the third instalment of the Fantastic Beasts series is to be released three months early – alongside its long-awaited title and a tease of the story.Mark the date in your calendars... A new chapter of Newt Scamander’s adventures is coming soon, with Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore to be released in cinemas globally 15th April 2022, and 8th April in the UK and Ireland, with a few other markets potentially also going a tad bit earlier. The film was expected to be released in July of next year, but today we can exclusively reveal fans will be able to enjoy the third film a few months earlier than planned! And here’s a glimpse of the plot to expect.... Professor Albus Dumbledore knows the powerful Dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald is moving to seize control of the wizarding world. Unable to stop him alone, he entrusts Magizoologist Newt Scamander to lead an intrepid team of wizards, witches and one brave Muggle baker on a dangerous mission, where they encounter old and new beasts and clash with Grindelwald’s growing legion of followers. But with the stakes so high, how long can Dumbledore remain on the sidelines? Many of the characters you know and love from the first two Fantastic Beasts films will return, such as Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander and Jude Law as Albus Dumbledore along with Ezra Miller (Credence/Aurelius Dumbledore), Alison Sudol (Queenie Goldstein), Dan Fogler (Jacob Kowalski) and Katherine Waterston (Tina Goldstein). Comedian and actor Jessica Williams, who had a brief appearance in Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, will return as Ilvermorny professor Eulalie 'Lally' Hicks, while Mads Mikkelsen will debut as Gellert Grindelwald. The film will once again be directed by David Yates and will reunite producers David Heyman, J.K. Rowling, Steve Kloves, Lionel Wigram and Tim Lewis, along with executive producers Neil Blair, Danny Cohen, Josh Berger and Courtenay Valenti. The screenplay is written by J.K. Rowling and Steve Kloves. That’s all there is to tell for now – but be sure to keep checking back for more updates about Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore when we have them. "Being an effective remedy against pustules, hives, boils and many other scrofulous conditions. This is a robust potion of powerful character. Care should be taken when brewing. Prepared incorrectly this potion has been known to cause boils, rather than cure them..."— Zygmunt Budge, Book of Potions. The Cure for Boils (also known as simply Boil Cure) was a potion which removed boils, such as those produced by the Pimple Jinx. It was an elementary potion and the recipe could be found in Magical Drafts and Potions and Book of Potions. "Idiot boy! I suppose you added the porcupine quills before taking the cauldron off the fire?"— Severus Snape lecturing Neville Longbottom for having failed to brew this potion correctly If the potion was made successfully, there would be pink smoke raising from the cauldron.

In the world of Harry Potter, a ghost is the transparent, three-dimensional imprint of a deceased witch or wizard, which continues to exist in the mortal world. Muggles cannot come back as ghosts, and the wisest witches and wizards choose not to. It is those with ‘unfinished business’, whether in the form of fear, guilt, regrets or overt attachment to the material world who refuse to move on to the next dimension.Having chosen a feeble simulacrum of mortal life, ghosts are limited in what they can experience. No physical pleasure remains to them, and their knowledge and outlook remains at the level it had attained during life, so that old resentments (for instance, at having an incompletely severed neck) continue to rankle after several centuries. For this reason, ghosts tend to be poor company, on the whole. They are especially disappointing on the one subject that fascinates most people: ghosts cannot return a very sensible answer on what it is like to die, because they have chosen an impoverished version of life instead.Ghosts can pass through solid objects without causing damage to themselves or the material, but create disturbances in water, fire and air. The temperature drops in the immediate vicinity of a ghost, an effect intensified if many congregate in the same place. Their appearance can also turn flames blue. Should part or all of a ghost pass through a living creature, the latter will experience a freezing sensation as though they have been plunged into ice-cold water.Witches and wizards are much more susceptible to what Muggles call paranormal activity, and will see (and hear) ghosts plainly where a Muggle might only feel that a haunted place is cold or ‘creepy’. Muggles who insist that they see ghosts in perfect focus are either a) lying or b) wizards showing off – and in flagrant breach of the International Statute of Secrecy. Original writing by J.K. From Parseltongue to Gobbledegook to Troll to Mermish and Runes... we explore the different magical languages of the wizarding world. ParseltongueIf you are lucky (or unlucky) enough to speak Parseltongue, you have the ability to communicate with snakes. Salazar Slytherin was one very famous Parselmouth – it’s why Slytherin’s symbol is a serpent! However, as Harry (another Parselmouth) found out, it’s a language which is often regarded with suspicion and seen as the mark of a Dark wizard. In some ways that could make sense, as Voldemort was someone who could communicate with snakes, as well as being a descendent of Slytherin. Although, as Harry demonstrates, not all those who speak this language are bound to do Dark deeds. GobbledegookGoblins have a long and complicated history in the wizarding world – from their many rebellions to working at Gringotts bank. But did you know that they had their own language, Gobbledegook? It was one of over two hundred languages that Barty Crouch spoke. Which is much more impressive than Ludo Bagman who only knew the Gobbledegook word for pickaxe – which is Bladvak if you were wondering. TrollAccording to Fred Weasley anyone can speak Troll – it’s just a case of pointing and grunting at things. He doesn’t seem to be wrong. According to Newt Scamander’s Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, trolls seem to have a crude language made up of mainly (you guessed it) grunts. Though they have also been known to be able to understand and even speak a few human words. But as creatures of rather limited intelligence… there is only so much they can comprehend. MermishThis is another language in Barty Crouch’s repertoire – and one in Albus Dumbledore’s too! Mermish in the language spoken by merpeople. One interesting fact is that merpeople’s voices sound different when above the water and under it. Underneath, they speak in what sounds like a human language (the merpeople in the lake at Hogwarts appear to speak English). But when they are out of the water their voices suddenly sound completely different – and rather unpleasant. As Harry learnt when he opened the Golden Egg above water in Goblet of Fire, when merpeople aren’t in water they sound as though they are screeching and caterwauling. RunesIf you look closely Runes appear throughout the Harry Potter series in one form or another. For instance, Ancient Runes was one of the many subjects that Hermione Granger studied and excelled at (even if she got the words ehwaz and eihwaz mixed up in her O.W.L.). Runes were also found inscribed around the Pensieve in Dumbledore’s office. And after his death, Dumbledore left a copy of The Tales of Beedle the Bard to Hermione that were all written in these curious symbols. It’s a shame that Harry never learnt to read them himself – as they crop up rather frequently.
