Hi everyone, my name’s Alex and I’ve recently moved to York. I’m finding it to be a great city and would love to represent it in competition. Unfortunately, the club’s admin, Graham (@ghsmith), has been inactive since last spring. Chess.com have told me that if the members of Team York vote on it, we can choose a new leader. I’d like to put myself forward, as I have some thoughts on how to revive the team: by advertising on Chess.com teams and to real life York chess clubs, we should be able to form enough of a team to compete in the next season of the World and European Cities League. I know there are still a few active members, so come say hi if you’re reading this. Say whether or not you’d be happy with me taking the reins, and put yourself forward as admin if that’s a role you’d be interested in. All the best, Alex
