Welcome to Young Champions, a group of young and talented chess players who seek to aim high and go beyond! We welcome you warmly to this group and we hope you have a great time around! We are all friends and some of us like to hang out and chat at live chess. If you want to be added, then we would be happy to introduce ourselves and be buds. We are just kids who like to hang out. Unlike other groups, we are THE unique group of unity and friendship! If there are problems/complaints/worries, feel free to contact anyone rank 2 or higher (See below), as we will make sure our group is free of flaws. And also, feel free to really spam the forums. We would like this group to be very active! We hope everything is fair for you guys and remember to follow our group philosophy! Group philosophy: 1. Never say never. 2. Try your hardest 3. Go beyond!!! 4. Have fun! 5. Respect groupmates. 6. Be nice and encouraging 7. Work together. 8. Be friendly. 9. Be positive The following are important positions of the group. Only these important members will be super admin or admin, and to have an important position like this, you must apply, and we'll look at your records. These positions have ranks determining their value. Any open position not yet taken, you can apply for this. Also, if you're not active for 7 days, you will be demoted. If you have any position ideas, feel free to tell someone of rank 2 or higher. IMPORTANT!!!!!!!!!!!: You'll have to very responsible and active and depended on. If you haven't done anything major, we'll give you 2 warnings. Only rank 2 and up people can be super admins. President~ King_Gorgan_Zolla (Rank 1) The president is the most important member, running and directing the entire group. The highest ranked, the president controls everything. Task manager~ Chess4001 (Rank 2) The task manager is almost as valued as the president, but does just as much work. The task manager does important tasks for the group and answers questions and directs some minor stuff. Vice president~ jokerman13 (Rank 2) The vice president is just like a president except he/she helps/take care of stuff for the president. If the president were not to be here to help, then that's when the vice president takes action. Executive~ Celticsfan1 (Rank 2) Right next to vice-president, the executive has an important role: to help out with the president himself. The executive also has to earn the trust of the president to be his personal guidance manager/helper. The executive makes immediate suggestions with the president. Secretary~ Chess4001 (Rank 3) The secretary, as being rank 3, is a VERY important job to handle!!! Only someone with our trust and guidance can be the secretary. The secretary posts alerts/news as well as organizing the forums. He/she also takes part in deciding the major changes with the group's social connection; this means that the secretary has authority over the group. Assistant secretary~ (Rank 3) The assistant secretary takes the limelight when the secretary isn't reacting much. As the main secretary will be busy, the assistant secretary will be working along with the secretary to post news/stuff. Council member~ TheDestructivePawn(Rank 3) The council members are a group of unique and intelligent thinkers who decide mainly on group decisions. They get to help out with the larger ones, too. They contribute great ideas for the group and we rely on them to help us with various issues. They kind of connect with the task manager/secretary by giving him/her ideas to manage with. Council member~ (Rank 3) Council member~ (Rank 3) Council member~ (Rank 3) Council member~ (Rank 3) Puzzle creator~ (Rank 3) The puzzle creator creates the group's puzzles The puzzle creator MUST be very active. Chess tutor~ Celticsfan1 (Rank 3) The group tutor must be a high-leveled player; he/she teaches the group new tactics/strategies/openings weekly (or more often). And once again, the chess tutor must be very active. Chess tutor~ (Rank 3) Game analyzer~ (Rank 4) The game analyzer takes games from other people and analyzes them. Game analyzer~ (Rank 4) Recruiter~ (Rank 4) The recruiters try hard to recruit as many members as possible to our group. If our group doesn't grow so well, then try harder. Recruiter~ (Rank 4) Recruiter~ (Rank 4) Head player~ davidlam99 (Rank 4) (Maybe) The top player of the Young Champions, the head player would need to be frequently online and they participate in many team/vote matches. Second head player~ jokerman13 (Rank 5) Like a head player, except second in strength. Still joins in as much matches as possible. Same goes for third head player. Third head player~ (Rank 6) Fourth head player~ (Rank 6) Fifth head player~ (Rank 6) Match administrator~ Wave35482(Rank 6) The match administrator starts as many matches as possible. He/she has full authority over the matches started/finished. Team match director~ (Rank 7) Team match director~ (Rank 7) Starts many team matches. Like head players, the team match director must be online very frequently to start matches. Same for the vote match director. Vote match director~ (Rank 7) Vote match director~ (Rank 7) Comedian~ (Rank 8) Comedian~ (Rank 8)

Here, I present a selection of games from which I think you guys might be able to learn a few things! The first two were played against fellow administrator jokerman13. Enjoy guys! I've provided annotations so as to help you try to understand my reasoning in the positions. Who knows, you guys may just teach me a few things from these games too! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Game #1: Jokerman13 Loses to the Sicilian This is a game against jokerman13 in which I used the Sicilian Defense as black to get the win. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Game #2: Putting a Little English on the Joker I manage to get the best of joker again, this time with the English opening. I don't really think my middlegame play in this game was very good, but you might be able to learn a thing or two from how I executed the checkmate. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Game #3: Early Pawn Storm = Trouble Chalk up another win for the Sicilian. White made crazy pawn advances in this game and ultimately succeeded in only depriving his king of defense in the end. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Game #4: French'd! Here's a game I won using the French Defense!

Guys we are doing our first match. One problem..... I think we lost. Because Mortal Kombat he is studying for a test. He will not be on for a month. And he is one of our strong players. So guys I'm asking you guys one simple question. Try your hardest! And study the games I did on the forums and news.... All of them, and i'll give you a couple of openings you can use.
