I was born and raised in New York City and graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in  Psychology.

I have a deep passion for the game of chess and even more so, the opportunity to teach lifelong lessons to young people through the game.

I was introduced to chess at 11 years old by my math teacher! The game helped me with my self esteem, provided the mental stimulation I needed during formative years, and has opened doors for me throughout my life.

I have more than eight years of experience coaching players of all levels and ages (including both of my daughters!). Throughout college and in my early 20's, I taught chess in Elementary Schools across Washington state.

I’ve had the opportunity to  travel around the United States playing in tournaments and leading intensive chess camps coaching students up from basic piece movement to executing complex tactics, and recognizing checkmate patterns

My passion for teaching under represented groups and promoting the most beautiful game in the world continues to be my motivation
