Are players coerced to subscribe by having to face competition above listed rating?
Site totally flipped on me. Ratings are manipulated. If your are not a subscriber they can be merciless.
I don't think it's that, if you are saying that chess.com bots are attacking nonmembers I really think that's nonsense, I just think It's because members have more access to tutorials on how to play the game and in general are better.
I think at the least the algorithm gets stuck and assigns opponents in an inconsistent manner. If there are malicious janitors I do think I've encountered one.

So they didn't like my ad blocker. They switched me over to google ads at the same time they started the tougher opponents. New algorithm. Got it.
And one point I have not made which is is worthy of note is that the competition on a USA EST weekday morning is so much worse than on a weekend. I need to play weekdays to build my rating back up. But I stand my my contention that something happened when google ads kicked in. From my point of view the nature of the competition did change.
Are corporate bots assigned to defeat non-subscribers?
