What's the best? I keep hearing Chronos, but they are unavailable...Help!

You'll get so many different answers from chronos, zmart, dgt and many others. I would just YouTube some chess clock reviews to see the differences between all of them and also to see how they functionally work.

I got a wind-up Jerger.

They don't make them anymore.

The best chess clock is the VTEK 300. Unfortunately it's out of production right not but Shelby Lohrman is working on getting it back into production soon with some changes and under a differnt name.

Do you have any idea when it might come back? Like a few months or a year?

I’m not sure but perhaps Shelby can tell us more!

I'm always skeptical of "what's the best" type of questions. What does "best" mean to the original poster? Cheapest? Most accurate? Most features (that you may never use)? Best looking? All of this is subjective.

Here's an inexpensive clock from DGT... link. I like the price, colour and portable size. I like to recommend this to many people. It works great for what I need. I've also got the DGT 3000 that works with my DGT board (more expensive but more features).

I have a vintage mechanical MOM chess clock that I love the look of but it's not as reliable any more and doesn't do bonus/increment.

What does "best" mean to you?

Old school wind-up clocks.

It has the look and the feel that is unmatched. Something very old. Chess is even older.

Digital watches are very new. 1970 or something.

That's nothing in historical time.

But I can't play 15 +5 time controls with a wind-up clock. I don't know what time controls OP wants to play.

The DGT clock I linked above is brown and beige. Looks nice next to a wooden board happy.png

I played chess in a real chess club.

Time control was

90 minutes for 40 moves + 60 minutes.

So there.

DGT 3000 is pretty handy and would suffice most use cases.
