Hey Everyone,

I've been trying to decide on which books to buy, obviously with the goal of improvement (Targeted at the Intermediate Player 1200 - 1700).

Books I'm strongly considering

- Silman's Complete Endgame Course

- The Amateur's Mind

- Chess Strategy for Club Players

- How to Reassess Your Chess

Would love to hear your favourites for Intermediates and the reasoning behind the suggestions

Agree with RussBell. Chess Strategy for Club Players by Grooten and How to Reassess Your Chess by Silman are best for players above 1700 rating.

Interestingly, Grooten’s book is what got me to try the Chess Steps Method workbooks, which I think the OP might want to consider … levels 2-4 (goes up to level 6) correspond roughly to the 1200-1700 rating range … mostly tactics, some endgames, a small amount of opening principles and introductory strategic themes.
