Fading is caused by UV. LED emit a fairly narrow spectrum, so unless you specifically installed UV LEDs (for blacklight effects), they shouldn't cause fading.
Display cabinet LEDs effect on pieces?

Here's some info from the Canadian Conservation Institute specifically about LED lighting in museum displays. I've linked to the relevant section ("what to buy") but the whole whitepaper is pretty interesting even if some of it is a bit over my head
This is a random question that has been making my wheels spin..
Will my LEDs in my display cabinet fade my chess pieces if I run them 24/7?
we are restoring and revamping an old corner cabinet to use as a display cabinet for our chess sets. We want to run LEDs in the cabinet for lighting. But I am wondering if having the LEDs on constantly will fade the colors of our wooden chess sets..
I know direct sunlight will fade them, but was not sure if the same would happen with LEDs
thanks in advance to anyone who has some insight to this
