You'll want to use setting 23 and set both time controls there. The first menu is the base time control, set for each player. The next option is the delay for the first time control. When it gets to 2, you put in the second time control, then the delay. Leave the third time control all at 0.

If you have time left after your 40th move, you get to use the rest of that time. It's completely up to the players to determine if the 40 moves have been made before the switchover to SD and make the the claim.

I have one of the "LEAP" Chess timer clocks, and I cannot get it to this setting.
Program #25 allows me to put in 40/100, SD/30, but it does not allow a delay. (It allows me to input bonus time, but not a delay. Is that acceptable in a tournament?)
Actually I've done this before but with the second time control being an increment and Nota delay. Checkout ShelbyLohrman's videos on settings. DGT NA does have a move counter so the players don't have to guess.

No, you cannot use bonus in place of delay since you can potentially get more time with bonus.

One common mistake people make when setting the DGT NA is that after setting the hours and minutes of base time in the first time control for the left side, the next screen that comes up may look like it's where you set the delay time but its not. This is where you set the seconds on the base time for the left side. Only after setting the hours, minutes and seconds of base time in the first time control separetly for each player do you get to the screen where you set the delay time simultaneously for both players. After this you set the base time in the second time control for both players simultaneously, the hours and minutes on the first screen and then the seconds on the next screen. Then you set the delay in the second time control simultaneously for both players.
