2014 London Chess Classic

The 2014 London Chess Classic takes place at the Olympia Conference Centre, Kensington, London (UK) from 6-14 December 2014.

The main tournament this year is the 'Super Six' classical chess tournament featuring six of the world's elite players - Vishy Anand, Fabiano Caruana, Vlad Kramnik, Hikaru Nakamura, Anish Giri and Mickey Adams. They play an all-play-all from 10-14 December, and the same six players will also participate in the Super Rapidplay Open from 6-7 December, which is open to anybody to compete. Which means an amateur could meet a legend of chess in a truly competitive face-to-face encounter!

Part of the London Chess Classic is the Pro-Biz Cup (9 December, from 10.45) in which eight super-GMs are partnered by business leaders and celebs and take part in a fun knock-out.

All of the Super Six (Anand, Caruana, Kramnik, Nakamura, Giri, Adams) plus Nigel Short and Gawain Jones will participate.

Amongst the celebs taking part will be Sir Clive Woodward, World-Cup-winning manager of the England rugby team.
