Anyone know where I can get the fide blitz and rapid rating lists.

For the top players in the world.

I would also like to know where to find them. They don't seem to appear on the fide website.

bump, I've had frustrating and unfruitful search for this. I found a pdf of the FIDE blitz rating list but it has every registered FIDE player on it in alphabetical order and you can't sort it. I'd love to see a live blitz and rapid rating list somewhere, or even just the last list... top 100 will do...

Naka cleaned up with 7/9 in the tal memorial blitz tourament, be curious where he ranks on the list.

Try not to suck quite so hard all the time please FIDE.

I compiled a top 10 list about a month ago. Naka was 4th. Ill look up the notebook. Magnus was 3rd. Either Grischuk or Karjakin was 1st, I'm thinking Karjakin was.

Blitz rankings

1. Karjakin. 2873

2. Grischuk. 2858

3. Carlsen. 2856

4. Nakamura. 2844

5. Andreikin(who?) 2824

6. Aronian. 2817

7. Nepomniachtchi. 2813

8. Anand. 2794 this is actually his rapid rating. Fide doesn't even have a blitz rating for him even though he just played the blitz tournament in Norway recently. I stopped here.

You can go to fides top 100 list and each player will (should) have a rapid and blitz rating beside their real rating. You'll have to rank them yourself though. Keep in mind some players haven't played any speed events since fide started the rapid and blitz ratings.

cheers, that's most of what I wanted to see.

" 5. Andreikin(who?)"  Andreikin is usually around 2700 in classical and hangs around in the top 20 or 30 in the world in but has always been a real beast in speed chess. He's playing in the Tal memorial starting tomorrow actually.

Avatar of MrDamonSmith

Ill look up and see how he did in today's blitz tournament. #5 in the world is a beast. I didn't know he was playing in this tournament

He got 7th out of 10th on tiebreaks.

I'm not seeing anything on this page myself http://ratings.fide.com/toparc.phtml?cod=261 I could be blind, wouldn't be the first time.

I don't know how to post a link or if I can on an android phone but go to fides home page and click "ratings" then click"top players" then click "top 100 players" then you can click on any of the individual names on the top 100 list. Example: clicking on Carlsens name will bring up a page that shows were he was on ranking lists over the years but there's a little folder there that takes you to his profile. Click the tiny folder.

Oh I see, I was looking at the archive version which is virtually identical but it doesn't have clickable names. This works, thanks for that.

Cool. Yeah there's a lot of info on every player, not just the top 100 either. Where each player ranks in the world, their country rank, etc. Even rating history and individual tournament results, list of opponents and so forth.

Blitz ratings are incomplete as the rankings are a new phenomenon... FIDE uses the classical live rating as a base point... its not perfect but I don't see another way of doing it... however I would add the following to the list of super blitzers with at least 2800+ potential.

9.  Mamedyarov

10. Le Quang Leim (Vietnamese GM and an outstanding blitzer)

Le Quang won the just concluded world blitz championship with a Capablanca-like positional style... it rare to see positional players play a lot of blitz these days (Karpov and Capablanca were great blitz players).

Andreikin played way too much blitz over the years which hurt his classical game... that said he is still a 2730 GM in classical and is thought  to be one of the greater talents to come from Russia in recent years.

Grischuk holds the record of 2923.

Avatar of MrDamonSmith

I bet Borislav Ivanov could break the record.

LOL! Smile

Avatar of MrDamonSmith

The 2923 rating that Grischuk had at one point, it very early after they started keeping blitz ratings right? Do you know how many games that was based on? Was it considered provisional? One tournaments result maybe? Is there a way to find out that info?

They started with their standard rating last year I believe. And then it went independently on.

The rating graphs for each player are accessible, and they include the rapid ratings.

But I have no clue about a list of the rapid ratings. It would be extremely surprising that such a list does not exist.
