Did Magnus Carlsen ever have a girlfriend ???

he might not be too happy when his rubber duck has to make some space for her in the bath.

Synne Christin Larsen.  Is she the "lovely young maiden from Norway" in the limericks thread?

Interesting that he's gone for a non-chess-player, probably a wise choice to be honest

"Basically my wife was immature. I'd be at home in the bath and she'd come in and sink my boats." Woody Allen

Hmm, any joke from Woody Allen about immaturity in his marriage is reeeeeeally creepy.

Not if you just read the quote and don't think of anything else but the quote. By itself it's really funny, it's your thoughts going beyond the quote that might make it feel creepy, not the quote I posted on it's own.

Most chess players can't get a girlfriend - that's why they play chess. If they had a chance to do the things every other guy enjoys, they of course would. They don't have those same opportunities though so they tuck themselves away in this very tiny world of Chess - the only venue where anyone will ever admire them.

Son - disagree. I think most chess players are casual enough about the game to have relationships outside of chess.

Eseles - in isolation, Woody is hilarious.  I have a difficult time keeping his personal life out of his jokes/fiction/movies though, as they are based on his personal life.
