Today the 3rd International "Isthmia" tournament started and there was a big surprise at the top board with 14 year-old Andreas Kelires (2075 rating) of Cyprus defeating Ukrainian Grandmaster Sergey Fedorchuk (2669 rating)

Those are some pretty surprising blunders for a grandmaster.

What do you think? Is this a big talent on the making? To me, it looks like he will certainly be the best player of Cyprus soon (if not already!).

Incredible! Surprised

It goes to show that no matter who you play you have to work hard during the whole game. & play the board, not the opponent.

Kelires responded to 21.g6 really well with Bf6 and deserved the win on merit.

This is not Incredible. This kid is just getting better in chess. And Shrivov  maybe underrestermated him.

That's a different 14-year-old!

Too many mistakes of White, light bishop undevelopemnt, slow attack, misplaced pieces, no defence, not a good day for Sergey.

i hate to say it but the grand master didn't blunder but was outplayed near the end blacks attack was strong and whites attack was going nowhere

Black know the sicilian. White should not play 8.h3. 8.Qd2 looks better.

18...Bf6 was really good.

Is there anything bad with 24. c3 followed by Nd2?

The g7 pawn should not take the white one because it creates opening for white.

The main aim is to control the c4 square which looks much important now.

What do you guys think?
