Things are what they are before they are symbols. Symbols are in the eye of the beholder. I might note that the putative Illuminati and the Rosicrucians, etc, drew upon existing storehouses of of symbolism in creating their own. Therefore some nonmasonic symbols and masonic symbols can have common origins without in themselves being otherwise related. See Ages, Middle, for an understanding of how pervasive symbolism was in the thought of some earlier times.

It could be hollow earth aliens controlling the planet. That is why we keep drilling for oil, because the hollow earth aliens need to get rid of all the oil covering their eggs. Once the oil's gone then the eggs can hatch and the aliens an pop up from the ground to take over the earth.

No, it’s the Reptilians. They live in the crunchy, caramel flavored center of our Flat Earth. They are trying to control your mind. They have everything they need down there, but they always want more power. So they come up here, disguised as people, doing all manner of mischief. You can defend your mind by wearing a tinfoil hat. They can’t get to your Alpha Waves that way. What they want with chess is beyond me, but I wouldn’t put it past them.
