The following information is from West Orange Chess Club Co Vice President and Tournament Director Doran Race.  It is regarding events taking place at the club the next four Tuesdays, starting tomorrow evening:

Update:

Dear West Orange Chess Players, There seems to be a strong majority opposed to dual rated events. If a tournament will affect your slow rating you want more than 60 minutes. I have modified my 1 night tournaments so they won’t affect your slow rating. The new time control is 5 minutes per game with 24 seconds added (increment) each move. This means score keeping is not required and we can probably get an extra round completed before midnight. Hence some sections of the 8 pm start will have 5 players. We will use this new time control starting JAN 2nd. Doran Race
