What do you think of the Round 3 game at the St. Louis Sinquefeld tournament? Carlsen let his guard down, and the World #3 beat him - as black. From what I've heard, most GMs play to draw as black, so this is a huge deal. Fel free to share thoughts on this interesting event.

Note: the move annotations are from the site I got the PGN from, I could not remove them, and it was the only site that had the PGN. The link is here:

In my opinion, Carlsen has been playing surprisingly poorly during the tournament; one would not expect the current world champion to have this performance. However, Caruana's victory is still an amazing feat, and he may be the winner of the entire tournament. Carlsen carelessly threw the game in the garbage on move 31, but that was not the sole reason of Caruana's triumph. Caruana's performance is definitely impressive.

Wow, you are a couple of days late...

Carlsen loses with white quite more often than Kasparov

A_G_A, I agree. Move 31 was a complete blunder that cost him the game. He spent a full minute after he got his buttocks handed to him with his head in his hands at the board. Magnus needs to stop basking in his fame, and either accept the reality there are superior players, or step up his game before he has to face Vishy in November.
