Elubas, Giri had several won, or close to won games in the last Candidates. He's only 22, and he doesn't have to change his game much to get the wins.

I disagree, he may very well have to change his game. Though, it's just speculation whether you're claiming he will or won't have to change his game. He is only 22, that's true, which is why I gave a nod to that in my comment.

"Giri doesn't go looking for draws, he just finds them. "

Well, looking for draws is a bit excessive for even some of the most drawish players out there. No strong player wants to draw as white. It's just a matter of how much risk they're willing to put in to increase their chances of winning. Just a lot of things give Giri that drawish vibe, to me. It's not just that his results include a lot of draws, though that's a big factor. He seemed to really want to cling onto his plus score against Magnus, and didn't care if he could never get another win. As if, not losing is just the most wonderful thing in the world. That's the vibe I tend to get from him. He'll of course take a win given to him, but the amount of risk he's willing to put in for a win seems low. I'm sure there are exceptions but this is the general trend. We'll see what happens, though. If Giri can up his game to another level, that would be awesome to see.

Of course, any of these young players could just suddenly hit 2850 or something in the next few years, it could be Giri, Caruana, Vachier Lagrave, So, all sorts of people. You never completely know. But climbing much past 2800 is one hell of a climb, impossible for almost everybody.

Ian Nepomniachtchi. He had the advantage of working with Carlsen not too long ago, when Carlsen was trying to improve on his blitz. Something like Kramnik had with Kasparov. It's just a guess but still Ian in now virtually top 10.

In a game, or in a tournament, or in a match?

If you want to know for a match they should play a series of candidates matches and let the winner play him in a match for the title.

Well, if Shirov proved that he was better at beating Kasparov in a match than Kramnik was, after beating the latter clearly in their Candidates match...

In 1998 Shirov likely would have given Kasparov a better match than Kramnik in 1998.  I don't think Shirov was going to give Kasparov  better match than Kramnik in 2000 though.

I guess John Cena could also work.

I doubt John Cena would work, because chess is not his field of expertise. If he's even real.

I did not write that.....Damonevic Smithlov wrote that from my laptop when I was logged on to Chess.com.
We were at a New Year's Eve party and a group of us left to make a liquor store run....and while we were
gone he saw my laptop on a table already logged in to a bunch of different sites.... and being as intoxicated
as he was....he thought it would be funny to write whatever he wanted about a myriad of different topics on
alot of different venues. He has a DARK COMEDIC SIDE to his personality when he gets
RIPPED/DRUNK/INTOXICATED......however you want to LABEL IT.

The point is....Sentient-Seven did not write these comments....Most of these topics I do not care anything about.
